How it started…

In Nikki’s own words—”You could say that I have been digging in the dirt my whole life. As soon as I could sit up Mamaw would set me in the vegetable garden and give me a spoon to dig in the dirt while she tended the garden.

I had not really thought of doing landscaping for a living, but I ended up going to Hinds Community College and obtained a landscape management degree. I am also a licensed landscape horticulturist and tree surgeon in Mississippi.

I love meeting with clients to discover their wants and needs for adding a Kitchen Garden, Pollinator Garden or beautifying their Landscape! My latest love are native plants! I guess I have always loved them but I now appreciate their wonderful benefits. I am excited about helping our local ecosystem by adding natives back to landscapes! “

Plant Connections Unlimited, LLC is on a mission to help clients become healthy by connecting to nature. We have a passion to help others create a legacy of healthy living and sustainability for the next generation through gardening!

Our owner, Nikki, has 18 years of professional green industry experience. Nikki grew up in the family vegetable garden and has a passion to see others take back control of their health and food through gardening. As a kid she was often outside playing in the woods or tromping through the creek. We guess you could say that loving plants is in her blood since all of her grandparents had a great love for gardening and some growing flowering plants. It is these experiences and people who played a role in her love for plants and nature.

She loves planting flowers to attract Hummingbirds, Bees, Butterflies, and other pollinators. Creating wildlife habitat is her way of giving back to our wild friends and being a good steward of God’s creation. She loves implementing these elements in Landscape designs. She believes that the best way to do this is by adding more natives back to landscapes. After all natives just make sense for local wildlife.

In warm months she is often found outside watching hummingbirds, bees, and chasing butterflies for that perfect shot.📷 Oh, we must not forget her sidekick, Alice, Nikki’s Jack Russel who is always close behind!

One of Plant Connection Unlimited’s big dreams is to open a botanical garden that preserves not only plants but provide areas for wildlife to flourish. Yes, this is a big goal, and we are glad to share our journey with you.
